Owen Fox - Summer 2011
Hi All,
Thanks for stopping by my page I have set up for raising money for my friend Owen Fox, who is my adorable 6 year old neighbor. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in mid-June 2011. Since then he's gone on to receive chemotherapy every week. I've personally never seen a kid with more drive than him. He carries on as best as he can, he holds his head up high and tries to maintain a normal lifestyle. He comes from an incredible family who has been supportive and extraordinarily loving and caring during this time. John and Mittie Fox, his parents, have really been through a lot these past few months as they strive to keep an environment around Owen that is clean, stable and again (and probably most importantly) - normal. He has one sister, Mittie June Fox who is 2 years younger than he is. She has handled this quite well and has been a supportive sister in every way that she can.

Mittie June (Junebug) and Owen - Summer 2011
Just to give you an idea of how sweet and loving Owen is, let me quote him. He said this about a year ago... "Mom, can I stay home from school today?" and when Mittie asked why, he replied "Just because I want to spend more time with you." For me, there's no better feeling than when he gets up on the couch with me to watch TV or a movie and cuddles up next to me. That's why we all love him so much, because his soul is so sweet, loving, caring and generous.
Raising money for Light the Night walk here in Atlanta is very important to me. We already have 87 walkers for "Team Owen" and have collectively raised more money than ever expected. If you can spare any money to help me with this cause, I'd be so grateful. Whether it's $5 or $500... it doesn't matter. It all goes to the same spot - to finding a cure for cancer.
Cancer is something that has been in my own family for years, and I know first-hand what it's like to fight it, beat it, and also lose to it. When it comes to my little buddy Owen - I'd give everything I have to help him and his family out during this tough time. The next 3 years are not going to be easy on the Fox's at all, but I promise you - Owen will beat this, and he'll grow up just like any other kid to go on and live a beautiful life.
It's up to us, all of us, to help find a cure for cancer. I believe it's out there, and I believe we're close to it. Just imagine a world without cancer, a world where a person gets diagnosed, treated, and healed without going through the tough and painful process of chemotherapy, radiation and different surgeries. Please help me raise some money for this cause - and help me support Owen and his family for the next 3 years and beyond as he fights off this disease.
Thank you for visiting my page. Please keep Owen and his family in your thoughts and prayers as I do, and if you can spare some money to help me, I'd be so grateful.
With many thanks,
Ryan Wolfe

Welcome to my Light The Night Walk homepage for Owen Fox!
Here is some history about LTN and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society:
Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising walk to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. Hundreds of thousands of participants raise funds for lifesaving research and patient services.
For more than 60 years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been solely focused on people with blood cancers. Presently, we have more than $250 million committed to research across the United States and in ten other countries. Every dollar is provided by concerned donors. We invest in the best, outcome based science:
- Anywhere, with no geographic or institutional boundaries
- Without profit incentive
- To meet unmet Medicare needs of people with blood cancers
And LLS funded advances are helping patients beyond those for whom they were originally developed, including people with solid tumors and auto-immune diseases. In the past decade, nearly 50% (19 out of 39) of the cancer drugs approved by the FDA were approved as treatments for blood cancer patients. Twelve are already approved for people beyond those for whom they were first developed. With your help, we are saving lives.
- A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.
- A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
- A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
- A donation of $1,000 makes possible one- on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives. Be sure to check my Web site frequently to see my progress, and thanks for your support!
