Meet Griffin, my 3 year-old honorary godson and the oldest of triplets. Griffin is active, strong, affectionate, smart, mischievous, precocious and everything a toddler should be -- except he is battling Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer. See more of Griffie on his blog. Thank you so much who has helped with the last-minute push to make our goal -- either by coming out to the fundraiser or helping outside of that:
Update from Gretchen: YAY TEAM GRIFFIN we did it...you are the stars of the light the night walk...We are going to get a pizza and cookie party under our very own tent at the walk!!! Congrats to all the team members!!! Remember to meet at 5:30 in Grant Park on Saturday September 26. Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's evening walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives. Be sure to check my Web site frequently to see my progress, and thanks for your support! |
