Team "Rally for Rachael"


Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.


Once again, Rachael Willis' family has made a commitment to participate in the Light The Night Walk. As you all know, our family has witnessed the effects of blood cancer all too closely. This event is a very personal one for us because Light The Night is a celebration and commemoration of the people whose lives have been impacted by cancer.


Proceeds from the walk go to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to help fund lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers . These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. Families are also assisted with medical, mental, and financial resources needed for their fight against cancer.


Thanks to everyone who helped make fundraising for Team "Rally for Rachael" a huge success last year. Together we reached our goal of $5000!!


This year the walk will take place on Sunday, Oct 18th at Galvez Plaza in downtown Baton Rouge, which is located directly behind the Old State Capitol. Here is the walk schedule:


Walk Distance: Approximately 2 miles

Check In: 5:30 PM

Opening Ceremony: 6:30 PM

Walk Start Time: 7:00 PM


We hope that you will join us this year as a walker or as a financial donor in this worthwhile and uplifting experience. Rachael was very dedicated to this cause and organization. Please join us in her honor and help us keep her vision alive.


Walkers are asked to gather contributions ahead of time so that we can submit them prior to the Walk. You can sign up now for Team "Rally for Rachael" by scrolling down to the bottom of this page & clicking on JOIN, then the Reigster to Walk tab at the top of the page. By registering online you will be able to start your online fundraising. Friends and family can conveniently donate online to your fundraising efforts.
