Welcome To Team Evan's Fundraising Page
Mar 20, 2009 by Marina Contreras
Wow! It's hard to believe this is Team Evan's 3rd year participating in the Light the Night walk. It truly is a blessing to have so many people involved in such a worthy cause. I believe the reason Evan is doing so well is because of the money spent on research. He is now 2 years into treatment and doing remarkably well! To see him today you would never think he has cancer. His boundless energy and head full of curly hair is such a gift. He spent 14 months going through such intense treatment and now he is finally in his maintenance phase. Good News is that Evan will be starting preschool! The next big hurdle he will face is radiation. All we can do is hope and pray he will get through it with minimal side effects.
Thank you for walking/donating in honor of our son, Evan. By doing so you are not just helping Evan, but all those affected by blood cancers. We look forward to seeing ALL of you at the walk in October. And the Biggest News, by far, is that Evan will get to walk with us this year! The past 2 years his immune system was too suppressed to attend, but not This Year! You will all get to see his boundless energy and his head full of curly hair for yourselves. Thanks Again for all of your love and support!
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.
- A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.
- A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
- A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
- A donation of $1,000 makes possible one- on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.
