Welcome to my Light The Night Walk homepage: In loving memory of Eric Zagorda I'm raising money prior to my participation in the Light the Night Walk through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society because of a very personal connection to the disease. My Northeastern University "family" lost a much-loved member last year: Eric Zagorda passed away in October 2008 following a long, hard-fought battle with leukemia. He diagnosed himself with the disease in our sophomore year, and would have graduated with us a few weeks ago. Throughout his fight against the painful and difficult illness, he made every effort to understand his disease, participated in fundraising and education for the public, and expressed a desire to pursue biomechanical engineering to produce better equipment to treat his painful disease. His parents also lost his younger sister to the same disease several years before Eric's diagnosis. We were all deeply affected by the loss of Eric, but inspired by his positivity, energy, and dedicated to seeking funds and awareness around the illness, and in that spirit we are raising money to participate in the Light the Night Walk in his memory. The Light the Night Walk raises money for a very important cause: finding better treatments and cures for blood cancers so patients can live better, longer lives. I'm asking you to help by making a contribution! Please use the link in this email to donate online quickly & securely. You will receive an email confirmation of your donation as soon as it is made. If you would prefer to donate via cash or check, feel free to contact me at levine.marisa@gmail.com or 412-478-7225 to make arrangements. http://pages.lightthenight.org/ma/BostonL09/mariseca I thank you in advance for your support which will make a difference in the lives of thousands of patients battling blood cancers. Your generosity is appreciated by patients and their loved ones so much: even the smallest donation will help make progress in the fight against leukemia and other similar diseases. Thank you so much--feel free to contact me with any questions. Best, Marisa P.S. Please forward this email to as many people as you can to encourage them to donate as well! Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's evening walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives. Be sure to check my Web site frequently to see my progress, and thanks for your support! |
