Welcome to my Light The Night Walk homepage.
I was blessed with a wonderful daughter, Christina Ann, 24 years ago. Her smile, her love and her charisma were as bright as the sunshine on a summer's day. She loved life and gave so much to so many people to make their lives much brighter.
She was a Christian and lived a true loving giving life helping others before herself.
As a student at Gordon College and loved learning, She had interest in all of history and the city of Boston. She worked for the National Park Service and enjoyed sharing 'her' city with tourists and friends alike. She loved working with the youth in Dorchester and shined her light in the lives of young girls. She wanted to see a change in the dark world around her. She loved music in all it's forms and enjoyed playing piano, harp, guitar and anything else she came across. She loved art and fashion and was interested in all things with color. (especially bright color) She adored Audry Hepburn movies and her elegant sophistication. She was a prankster and loved making others laugh. She was special in so many ways. But it was her love and smile that made anyone who met her happier.
Christina lost her 2 year battle with AMLeukemia on June 16, 2010.
It is because of her that we are walking with her to continue the battle against Leukemia. She never wanted to give up and always had hope for a cure. Today please help us by giving to the LLS so that her hope and her sunshine will shine tomorrow in the lives of those still battling this horrible disease. We are team Daisys because of her love of the simple beautiful flower....so like her simply beautiful.
Join us... Donate to our team... and dont' give up hope.... Smiling with you..Thank You.....
For more than 60 years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been solely focused on people with blood cancers. Presently, we have more than $250 million committed to research across the United States and in ten other countries. Every dollar is provided by concerned donors. We invest in the best, outcome based science:
- Anywhere, with no geographic or institutional boundaries
- Without profit incentive
- To meet unmet Medicare needs of people with blood cancers
And LLS funded advances are helping patients beyond those for whom they were originally developed, including people with solid tumors and auto-immune diseases. In the past decade, nearly 50% (19 out of 39) of the cancer drugs approved by the FDA were approved as treatments for blood cancer patients. Twelve are already approved for people beyond those for whom they were first developed. With your help, we are saving lives.
- A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.
- A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
- A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
- A donation of $1,000 makes possible one- on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.
