Welcome to Team Libretto's Light The Night Walk homepage.

Since 1998, the Mandelbaum clan, in some form or another, has been participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk. It all started at Hofstra University on Long Island, NY, and continues to this day in Overland Park, KS.

This year's walk will be on Friday, September 23 at Corporate Woods. If you want to become a Team Libretto walker, just sign up on the bottom of this page...all are welcome.

This event has personal meaning for our family since Donna is an ALL survivor. Diagnosed at 2 1/2 years old with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), Donna was agressively treated for several years with chemotherapy. The outcome was successful and she's been in remission for more than 25 years.

A lot has changed since the early 80's, and the medical community continues to fight to find a cure for Leukemia. Just this week, a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed how science is making huge progress on this front and how three patients, through an experimental study, have been either cured of Leukemia or slowed the process significantly by turning their own cells into "assassins" that kill the cancer cells.

Money raised through Light the Night go to support life-saving medical research such as this, as well as provide financial assistance for patients, their families and local support programs.

So as a family and a small business owner, we continue to support Light the Night. This marks our third year as a patron/corporate sponsor of the event, and our 13th year as a participant, and we encourage our families, colleagues and clients to show their support as well. Please donate to Team Libretto and make a difference for those battling cancer and those who work every day to find a cure for cancer.

So, we walk for those who have fought the battle and lost, those that fought the battle and won, and those that continue to fight. This year we dedicate our walk and funds raised to Christian Beattie, a good friend's brother who is bravely fighting AML right now, as well as to Ethan Potter, a wonderful little boy on Drew's baseball team who's battling Leukemia right now...even while playing little league baseball.

Please make a donation to support our participation in the Light the Night Walk and help save lives...for you, me, Christian, and all those touched by cancer. Last year we raised, along with our corporate donation, a total of $3,225, our best year ever. Since 1998, we've raised $12,725. Wow!

Thank you for your generous donations...we couldn't do this year-after-year without you.

13 years and going strong!

Team Libretto.
