Light The Night Walks are held in the fall in communities across the U.S. and Canada.  Teams of friends, families, and co-workers raise funds for cancer research and services for blood cancer patients in their community. In 2009 more than 3,600 people participated in the Eastern NC Light The Night Walks and raised more than $430,000! Participants walk a 2 mile route  to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. All funds raised will go towards the LLS mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.  Your support of the MedSource Wine Tasting and Pastries event on September 16th will help LLS offer support to nearly one million Americans living with blood cancers.  This year LLS will fund $68 million in research towards a cure, including projects totaling $6.5 million locally at Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill.
