I am walking in honor of one of my best pals, Spencer Lee Fonzarelli Gansert. If you know me at all, you already know this spectacular 2 year old through my posts, photos, and the Team Spencer Cafe Press store I created to help raise money for Spencer and his family during his Leukemia treatment this year. After 7 months, 6 chemotherapy infusions, 100 days in the hospital, and countless setbacks - Spencer has finished his treatment and is *hopefully* just weeks away from being officially declared cancer-free. He is a survivor. His parents are survivors. Help me to support them by supporting the amazing work the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is doing to end these dreadful diseases.

And, while I am on Team Spencer, I am also walking in honor of some other awesome young Leukemia survivors I met through The Gathering Place, a local organization for cancer patients and survivors that has been a great help to me through my own cancer journey. And for the loved-one of an anonymous dear friend, who is just beginning their own battle...

We are living in an extraordinary moment. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is on the brink of incredible breakthroughs that have already begun to change the lives of thousands of patients; treatments that can manage a person's condition with a daily pill, therapies that seek out cancer cells and kill them, and the use of a patient's own immune system to eradicate cancer not someday, but today.
