Princess Nina Nazari
11-20-2000~8-17-2009
Our precious 8 1/2 year old daughter Nina Z. Nazari was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on August 5th 2009. That same day, she was admitted to Medical City of Dallas Children's Hospital. For the next ten days, Nina underwent a very grueling and intensive course of chemotherapy in an effort to quickly bring her cancer under control. On the eleventh day something went horribly wrong and Nina's health became worse. She was complaining of severe back pain, was getting high dosages of pain medication and antibiotics; however, nothing was effective. Our precious daughter had a seizure and shortly after that she went into a coma. Nina Zahra Nazari deceased at 10:09 a.m., August 17th, 2009 at the Medical City of Dallas Children's Hospital after losing a hard fought twelve day battle against Leukemia.
Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising walk to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. Hundreds of thousands of participants raise funds for lifesaving research and patient services.
For more than 60 years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been solely focused on people with blood cancers. Presently, we have more than $250 million committed to research across the United States and in ten other countries. Every dollar is provided by concerned donors. We invest in the best, outcome based science:
And LLS funded advances are helping patients beyond those for whom they were originally developed, including people with solid tumors and auto-immune diseases. In the past decade, nearly 50% (19 out of 39) of the cancer drugs approved by the FDA were approved as treatments for blood cancer patients. Twelve are already approved for people beyond those for whom they were first developed. With your help, we are saving lives.
When The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk funds treatments that save lives, it's all due to people like you. Without your efforts LLS could not provide these lifesaving treatments. LLS really is making cures happen with your help.
Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening walks in over two hundred communities each fall across North America.
Please join our team's effort today by registering to walk or by making a donation. (P.S. Mention Team Princess Nina Nazari) Your participation in the Light The Night Walk will help save lives. Be sure to check our team Web site frequently to see our progress, and thanks for your support!
