Welcome to our Light The Night Walk

homepage. - TEAM PIPER!!!!

Dear FABULOUS Team Piper!!!!! First and for most, THANK YOU!!!!! It is amazing how quickly this team came together in support of that feisty, little fighter, Piper Simon!


WALK LOCATION:


The Campus At Legacy

5320 Legacy Blvd.

Plano, Texas 75024


Event Times: Pre-walk festivities will begin at 5 p.m. (You do not need to be there this early. I will be there to check us in).

At 6:45, everyone will move towards the stage for a short presentation and the balloon lighting ceremony! Please don't miss this! The walk begins shortly after 7 p.m.


PARKING INFORMATION:


They have reserved a parking lot at 5320 Legacy. It will be clearly marked.


Look for us in PINK - looking very "diva-fied" in honor of PIPER! I don't know this area at all, so I am not sure where to tell you to meet us, but I will try to be somewhere near the BALLOON TENT. (Campus at Legacy is a Business Park - not a college or hospital, like it sounds - I think we'll see signs!)


If you ARE planning to walk with us, and have not done it already, PLEASE sign up here on the Team Piper website.

You do NOT have to make a donation to do this!!!! But, it will help us at check in and it will help LLS know numbers for the event.


Also, most donations have been made online via credit cards (THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DID THIS!!!! LLS needs support badly these days!) IF for some reason, you have some cash or checks to turn in, I need to get those from you for check in at 5. I will be happy to come to you and pick that up on Saturday, just let me know. Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's evening

walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and

bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to

commemorate loved ones lost.


The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research

that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers

and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem

cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better,

longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without

harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are

improving quality of life.


  • A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE
  • booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help
  • them make informed decisions about their treatment options.

  • A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained
  • facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among
  • patients and family members.

  • A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies
  • and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.

  • A donation of $1,000 makes possible one- on-one conversations with
  • health care specialists who provide patients with information about their
  • disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for
  • their health care team.


Although we know the Simon family will benefit greatly from all LLS has to offer, we are walking for other reasons as well:

- It is a great way for kids to support their friend, Piper in her fight!

- We want to know more about Piper's disease - a LOT more - and we know this is a great way to educate ourselves on Hodgkin's Lymphoma!


Please join us and walk this coming Saturday night, 10/24 in Plano to show our love and support to Piper and her family! GO TEAM PIPER!!!!
