Welcome to Alina's Light The Night Walk Team Fundraising Page
We are excited to be part of the Inland Empire's 2016 Light the Night Walk at Auto Club Speedway. I hope you will join us in the fight to end blood cancer.
Alina's journey began in October of 2014. One evening Alina began to to have pain in her ankles. By morning she could barely walk. After visiting several doctors we were referred to Children's Hospital Orange County where Alina was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 14, 2014. Alina began chemotherapy on October 16th and was relased from the hospital after a couple weeks, but returned the next day because of pain and swelling in her left leg. Doctors found a blood clot and after a procedure to clear the clot Alina was able to come home on November 1st. Alina's Stregnth and determination helped get her through the next nine months of intensive chemotherapy. Alina is currently in maintenance which is the last phase of chemo and she just finished kindergarten! While there has been a few bumps in the road Alina continues to thrive. She's a rambunctious 5 year old who loves school and loves to play with her younger brother and sister.
Thanks to dedicated people like you, funds raised from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Light The Night Walk help support the research of blood cancer treatments that save lives.
Without your efforts LLS could not fund the research of such treatments as targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them or immunotherapy drugs that use a patient's own immune system to kill cancer.
Please join our team's effort today by registering to walk or by making a donation. Your participation in the Light The Night Walk will save lives not someday, but today.
Be sure to check our team Web site frequently to see our progress!
Thank you for bringing us all closer to living in a world without blood cancers!
