Welcome to my Light The Night Walk homepage.

Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's evening walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.

This is my second year walking. Last year I was part of the Portland, Oregon Jack's Mannequin team and this year I am the team captain. Andrew McMahon, the front man of Jack's Mannequin survived acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2005 after a successful stem-cell transplant from his sister Katie in August of that year. There are Jack's Mannequin teams across the nation are committed to raising awareness about cancer, raise funds for cancer research, and help find a cure (and to prevent) cancer. In 2008 the Jack's Mannequin team raised over $100,000 having a research grant named in it's honor. Andrew McMahon has been very active in the cancer community raising awareness and funds through his charity the Dear Jack Foundation (www.dearjackfoundation.com). He is a hero of mine and an inspiration to so many. You can join the Portland, Oregon team; make a donation to me; or make a donation to my team. Whichever you do will help in saving lives.

• A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.
• A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
• A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
• A donation of $1,000 makes possible one- on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.
