Welcome!

Welcome!
May 07, 2009 by Emily Harker

As one of the many teams across the nation walking under the name Jack's Mannequin, our main inspiration comes from the lead vocalist, pianist, and songwriter of the band, Andrew McMahon.

In 2005, right before the release of the band's debut album (Everything in Transit), Andrew was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He underwent various treatments for the disease and, thankfully, was able to overcome it. Now, after over four years of being in remission, he is still spreading knowledge and hope through his music and through his work, as he did while he was going through the battle.

As members of this team, we strive to help Andrew and many others find a cure for this disease and to provide hope and support to those going through it.

Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's evening walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.

Thank you so much for your support!
