Welcome to Team Jack's Mannequin!

The Team's Story

Team Jack's Mannequin is a nationwide Light the Night team that was created due to Andrew McMahon, a 27-year-old musician and a leukemia survivor. McMahon is known for his work with Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin- two piano-based rock groups from California.

In June of 2005- only months prior to the release of Jack's Mannequin's debut album, Everything in Transit- McMahon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Luckily, it was caught early enough that he was able to make a full recovery, with the assistance of a bone marrow transplant from his sister in August of the same year. Since then, McMahon has worked to spread both awareness and hope. In July 2006, the Dear Jack Foundation was established as a non-profit charity to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (among others). A documentary titled Dear Jack was released in November of 2009 and contained footage shot by McMahon himself throughout his treatment.

This year marks five years of McMahon's remission and five years of participation in the Light the Night walk by Team Jack's Mannequin. For the past two years, the team has raised more than $100,000 and we look to surpass that goal once again this year.
