Welcome to "Dan's Team" and My Light The Night Walk Homepage.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: If you are planning on attending the party at Darin and Liz Schanker's please RSVP immediately to Linda Snyder at: marketing@coloradolaw.net so we have an accurate count for food.
If you intend to walk, but can't make the Pre-walk Party at Darin's house, we will be meeting at Washington Park at Dan's Team's tent just prior to the walk. The tent should have a banner with Dan's Team on it. The walk starts at 7 p.m.
It's been quite a year. In my ongoing battle with myeloma, this year I have undergone more chemo than ever before, plus another stem cell transplant. Susan and I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, for 4 months for treatment at the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy.
Unfortunately the myeloma is still quite prevalent in my blood and we are waiting to see whether I can get into any clincial trials to be given new drugs, not yet approved by the FDA.
To read more about my experience with myeloma visit http://scoopondan.blogspot.com.
My work for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, however, is not for me. I do this because our family has experienced the difficulties of a blood cancer diagnosis. If we can save one family from this ordeal through increased research, or help one family with financial support through LLS, it is all worth it.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk takes place on Thursday, October 1, in Denver's Washington Park. As you know you can walk, donate, or both. All donations are tax deductible.
Last year almost 100 walkers joined us and walked with "Dan's Team." So, please join us, if you can, on October 1, in Washington Park in Denver.
Darin and Liz Schanker are, once again, hosting a prewalk party at their home, located on Wash Park, 818 S. Franklin St. All walkers are invited to the party and dinner, starting at 4:30 p.m. It was a great party and promises to be the same this year. We'll then go over to the Park for the festivities, with the walk starting around 7:00 p.m. I hope to see you there and am appreciative for whatever level of participation you choose.
If you plan to attend the prewalk party at Liz and Darin's, please RSVP to Linda Snyder at: marketing@coloradolaw.net.
Thank you again for your generous support.
With much gratitude,
Dan Patterson
