UPDATE: WOWOWOW We are number one contributor to date...with almost $9000! I am so amazed...my kinders and parents have worked so hard! Please come and join us tonight at 5:00 at Raley Field, West Sac. Lots of fun, food...but mainly support for a wonderful cause.
Background: Mia is a little student in my (Rice Krispies) kindergarten class who is fighting valiantly against leukemia. My class and I want to make a difference! Please join us in walking and donating to help this cause. Our $10,000 goal is mighty big, however we are making PROGRESS! My five year olds are decorating shoe boxes and doing chorses at home for spare change to earn their donations. We have a pickle jar filled with pennies. One boy worked all weekend and donated $2.00...another brought in 7 pennies. I am so touched. Parents, friends, children, grandmas/pas are all offering their hand. Thank you to those who have already been generous.
My mom, Nana Lois, is a 10+ year Non Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor. We have walked this walk many times before and she is well, healthy, and almost 87 years old!!! I am honored to be in a position to help this young person, Mia, in any way I can and honor my mom who is alive because of the research by this organization. She has volunteered in my classroom for 21 years now!
As a 21 year veteran teacher in the San Juan School District, I am hoping that my colleagues, friends, fellow realtors, relatives, community at large...will join me in this effort. I have personally seen the difference. Children CAN survive and go forward to have healthy, full and lovely lives!
