Welcome to the Tyson Family's Light The Night Walk Page. 09/09/09 is a day of celebration in the Tyson family. After battling cancer 3 times, our daugther, Julie, was declared "unremarkable" and her cancer gone on that date! It's a reminder that people out there need us to fundraise to help generate money for more life-saving research that save lives, including that of our daughter. We want cancer to one day be part of folklore. We want cancer to be so obliterated that our grandchildren Ty and Elea ask, "What's cancer?" when we mention the battle their Aunt Julie faced. This is the story we want for Generation Y. Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's evening walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost. November 20th, our family and friends--including our 5 year old granddaughter, Elea, and our 2 1/2 year old grandson, Ty-- will be walking in honor and in memory of those we love that have battled (or are currently battling) cancer. Please make a small donation to support our participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives (Elea and Ty's first fundraising adventure!). Or, better yet, join the Cures Rock! Team and come to Light the Night with the rest of us. We'll be caravaning down to San Diego from OC, so let us know if you want to come with us. Thanks for your support! Blessings, Bill and Pat Tyson Walking with the Cures Rock! Team, including: Julie Tyson Westcott (our daughter) Jason and Angie Vander Burgh (our son-in-law and daughter) Ty and Elea Vander Burgh (our grandkids) P.S. DID YOU KNOW? The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.
