Welcome to the Coalition of Reason's Homepage
Oct 02, 2012
Welcome to the (San Diego) Coalition of Reason's Light The Night Walk Team homepage.
Our team, Coalition of Reason, is a team-partner of Foundation Beyond Belief (FBB), a network of humanist volunteer teams working to improve this world and this life.
FBB is joining the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in their efforts to help people with blood cancers by becoming a Special Friend for their Light the Night Walks. Our goal is to unite freethinkers all over the world to raise one million U.S. dollars in 2012. If we do, we will be the first team in LLS history to raise more than $1 million in their first year. Leading the effort is philanthropist Todd Stiefel, whose family has pledged to match the first $500,000 raised by local teams.
In addition to helping people with cancer and contributing to research on cancer treatment and prevention, this effort provides a focus for compassionate humanism working for a better world. We might not share the same beliefs with our neighbors, but everyone can unite against cancer.
You can donate directly to our team, or you can create your own team and link it to the Coalition of Reason. (All monies contributed to your team or to the the Coalition of Reason team will be counted toward the FBB total.)
More Information about Light the Night Walk
Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising walk to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. Hundreds of thousands of participants raise funds for lifesaving research and patient services.
For more than 60 years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been solely focused on people with blood cancers. Presently, we have more than $250 million committed to research across the United States and in ten other countries. We invest in the best, outcome based science:
- Anywhere, with no geographic or institutional boundaries
- Without profit incentive
- To meet unmet Medicare needs of people with blood cancers
Please join our team's effort today by registering to walk or by making a donation. Your participation in the Light The Night Walk will help save lives. Thanks for your support!
