Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising walk to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. Hundreds of thousands of participants raise funds for lifesaving research and patient services.
This year's walk was Thursday, October 20th. Festivities began at Union Square at 5pm and the walk started at 7pm. Tens of thousands of San Franciscans saw us Light the Night!

Update: a week after the walk and the donations are still coming in! We have one final fund raising event this Friday for HQ employees in the form of a FREE LUNCH. See details on the Light the Night Chatter Group.
In 2011, Salesforce.com is on a mission to sign up at least 100 walkers and raise $100,000. We need YOU to participate. If you've never experienced the walk, it's amazing and gratifying on many levels. Walk yourself, with you friend or spouse, or with your family (imagine how cool hundreds of lit up balloons will look to your toddler!)
When you sign up to walk, you give your family and friends the chance to sponsor you! If you live in the city, just do it -- you'll be glad you did. If you can't walk for whatever reason, please make a donation to the team or to one of the individuals walking. Your participation in the Light The Night Walk will help save lives.
I am leading the charge this year as Salesforce team captain. I'm looking for 25 Co-Captains to recruit and fund raise. Want to help? Post on our Chatter Group (employees only.)

For more than 60 years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been solely focused on people with blood cancers. Presently, we have more than $250 million committed to research across the United States and in ten other countries. Every dollar is provided by concerned donors. The LLS invests in the best, outcome based science:
- Anywhere, with no geographic or institutional boundaries
- Without profit incentive
- To meet unmet Medicare needs of people with blood cancers
