Sigma Lambda Gamma & Sigma Phi Epsilon present:
Team Jack's Mannequin!
Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's evening walk and fundraising event. It is the nation's night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers and to commemorate loved ones lost.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.
Please make a donation to support our team's participation in the Light The Night Walk and help save lives.
Why Jack's Mannequin?
In 2008, Sigma Lambda Gamma and Sigma Phi Epsilon participated in LTN in honor of a Sister and friend. This year, we are teaming up with Jack's Mannequin in order to help and support as many people as possible.
In the Spring of 2005, Andrew McMahon of the band Jack's Mannequin, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia. Having made a full recovery, he now focuses on helping other cancer survivors by raising money and awareness through his music and his Dear Jack Foundation.
Jack's Mannequin's sophomore album, The Glass Passenger, touches on the topic of cancer and encourages all affected by this disease to always remain hopeful. In 2008, the Dear Jack Foundation matched the amount of money the Jack's Mannequin team raised, resulting in more than $102,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In recognition of this outstanding accomplishment, LLS bestowed a research grant in the Jack's Mannequin team name.
This year, our team hopes to surpass last year's goal, and you can help us acheive this!
Our team is open to anyone who wishes to fundraise and/or participate in the walk. :)
