Lizzy is now 16 years old. She has been battling leukemia since October 25, 2008. We have had some extremely rough seconds, minutes, moments, and time over the past 18 months, but Liz has never lost sight of the prize. Her life! She has more spirit, spunk, faith, tenacity, and adversity in her life than I have in my 46 years. I admire her more than I can even begin to express to you. Liz has shown me how to love and live life to the fullest; even at her sickest times.
One of Lizzy's wishes is that she wants a cure for leukemia. She understands that the treatment will always be brutal on these kids and that it will rob them of some of their childhood. Her question is, "Does it have to be as tough?"
There are emerging drugs that will lessen the severity of the damage done to ALL the cells. These new drugs will target only the "sick cells." This is all due to the research made by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Without this society, our survival rate would not be 90%. All the money raised goes to this wonderful organization and helps Lizzy make her wish come true for future kids.
Please take a moment to prayfully consider giving to our families cause. Any donation is a wonderful gift.
Blessings,
Christine and Randy Lothrop

This is the third Light the Night Walk that we have participated in since Joel was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in June of 2008. Like Christine said, it has been a long road and there have been some rough spots along the way. But as Joel would tell you, he has grown so much during this journey and we see in him a faith and perserverance that blesses and amazes us everyday. He is in remission and will continue with treatments until October 2011.
This year, we walk with joy for kids like Joel and Liz who are fighting and winning the battle, we walk with sorrow for those who fought and lost the battle, and we walk with hope for those in the future - that the research funded by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will ease their battle and ultimately find a CURE.
Please join our team and join the fight!
Blessings,
The Brown Family
Steve, Laura, Jack, Andrew, Allison and Joel
