NOW 2012 :)

It has been a very long road and to say the least, a road with so many pitfalls we are still trying to plant our feet firmly on smooth and stable soil. I doubt that day will really ever exist in the for-front of our minds, but possibly somewhere in a far and dark place in our minds there is a glimmer of hope. I know there has to be or we would not survive.

Just when you feel one foot has all its toes dug in, the heal slips and you hear of another friend that has relapsed, was newly diagnosed, or has lost their battle. I would really love to tell you how I feel about cancer, but honestly, there are absolutely no words that can express it except ones that I choose not to use. Just know that if you are blessed enough to never have seen anyone suffer while trying to save their life then you cannot imagine the horror of it, but you can pray and donate to help find a cure for this ugly beast.

Leukemia is a rare childhood disease, but the number one killer in children. It doesn't make you feel special to be in this group. It is one that you wish the wheels on the bus had kept rolling and not stopped at your door to take you on a ride.

With all of this being said, Elizabeth is doing great physically. She struggles with the whys and not for her, but for her friends that have not made it. She is thankful that she has lived four more years and the last 12 months pretty healthy. You can read an update about her by going to her blog at:

The Light The Night Walk is Thurs. Sept. 27, at the Mason Municipal Campus. If you could not make the race/cornhole event, but would love to still donate to our team Blazin With Love, there is still time. Help support Liz and Joel and their fight against this horrible disease by joining our team and coming out to walk the LTN walk with us.

If you would like to carry a balloon and receive a t-shirt, you can join the team and become a Champion For Cures by raising $100 or more to help support the work of hundreds of the world's best and brightest researchers in their search for better therapies and cures for blood cancers.

Please consider donating to our cause so that another family can have one more day of the gifts my family has received for almost the past 1,460 days (very close to four years).

Blessings ~ Christine
