Welcome to Braden's Battalion's Headquarters!
Oct 05, 2013
Welcome to the headquarters of Braden's Battalion's fundraising efforts for the Leukemia & Lymphona Society's Light The Night Walk!
Braden was diagnosed with Philadelphia Chromosome-Positive Accute Lympoblastic Leukemia (Ph+ ALL) on May 31, 2012, at Texas Children's Hospital. He went into remission in early July 2012 and has responded well to treatment ever since. In June of this year, concluded "active" chemo therapy and moved into Continuation Therapy — a 434-day phase involving daily pills and an occasional spinal tap, too.
In our first Light The Night Walk last year, our team raised over $12,000 and came in 2nd place among family/friend teams at the Downtown Houston walk. Our goal was $9,000 and we shattered it thanks to donations from friends, family, and total strangers. Incredible!
This year, Braden has been asked to serve as an Honored Hero for the Light The Night Walk in Downtown Houston. In fact, you'll find him featured on the event's website homepage. We're grateful that he was selected, and he's grateful that the role does not require him to make any speeches!
Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We invite you to join us in this cause one of two ways — or both:
(1) Donate! You can give to our overall team account or to a specific team member. Use the buttons in the right margin to give now!
(2) Join the team! Create an account and raise funds from your own family and friends. LLS offers great prizes and incentives, so check them out and set your goal. Click "Walk with us" in the header above to join now!
We're looking forward to a great Walk and a great night of celebrating Braden's courage and strength in his battle against leukemia. Whether you join us that night on October 12 or simply donate toward our $10,000 goal, we invite you to be a part of Braden's Battalion!
