Bonnie's Light The Night Walk

My family has been impacted very recently by leukemia. In 2007 my older sister Mandy found out the week of their wedding that her soon to be husband, Tyler tested positive for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). It has been a roller coaster ride since that week as Tyler's health has fluctuated.

In January 2009 Tyler had a bone marrow transfusion. They used bone marrow from his father which is a lower percentage match than some transfusions and newer procedure that is still in the research phase.

At this time we are thankful to report that Tyler is recovering very well. It is events like Light the Night that help raise funds for research that keep wonderful people like my brother-in-law Tyler on the road to recovery.

Unfortunately, we did lose my mother's cousin Cathy Frank to leukemia in her 20's. So this walk is dedicated to the recovery of my brother-in-law Tyler, his very close friend Hans (who was diagnosed this year) and in the memory of Cathy Frank.

I try to only pick one event a year because I know that there are lots of worthy causes out there. I would like to ask you to make a donation to support my participation in the Light the Night Walk and help save lives.
