Welcome to Our Light The Night Walk FRANCIS STRONG Fundraising Page

As most of you know Jimmy Francis was told February 1st 2011, he had Leukemia. The doctors looked at his counts, looked at how sick he was and they were not sure he would make it through the night, and definitely didn't think he would make it through the first round of chemo. Little did the doctors know, they were dealing with Jimmy Francis. They didn't know who he was, nor that he is such a strong fighter. Jimmy is not the type to sit back and let something get him down. With his family was by his side the entire fight, we made sure he beat all odds. While sporting the same shirt he has worn with each of his children, Jimmy was able to see his 5th child being born, just like he had the previous four kids.

Jimmy is what Francis Strong epitomizes

Jimmy was able to fight his fight because of his family, I don’t mean his amazing 5 kids, and strong wife of 17 years, but his whole family. His Mother, his sisters and sister in-laws, his in-laws from down the street, to around the country, his aunts, his uncles, his cousins, the 1st the 2nd, the 3rd,and the “I know we are cousins somewhere down the line”, his friends, his children’s friends, his coworkers, his classmates, his teammates from long ago through current teams, his neighbors, those that helped each of us so that we could help, his church, his angels from above, and all those angels that have been so generous and all kinds of ways. You know they say it takes a village, I think we have a small city.

This is the family; these are the ones that make us all Francis Strong

This is not a cancer that affects a person, or just a family, it affects an entire community.

We walk as a family, a unit, a community, we walk Francis Strong, to support LLS, as they have supported us through the adventure that began February 2011. Support for better research, better treatments that are not so hard on the body, early detection, preventative treatment. We walk because it’s inspirational. Funds raised bring help and hope to people battling blood cancer. Nearly a million Americans are battling leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Every four minutes, someone new is diagnosed. Every 10 minutes, someone dies. Every minute counts.

Thanks to dedicated people like you, funds raised from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Light The Night Walk help support the research of blood cancer treatments that save lives.

Without your efforts LLS could not fund the research of such treatments as targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them or immunotherapy drugs that use a patient's own immune system to kill cancer.

Please join our team's effort today by registering to walk or by making a donation. Your participation in the Light The Night Walk will save lives not someday, but today.

Be sure to check our team Web site frequently to see our progress!

Thank you for bringing us all closer to living in a world without blood cancers!
