Welcome to My Light The Night Fundraising Page

Three minutes. 1/20 of an hour. 180 seconds. Seems like a short amount of time, right? It is especially when you consider the fact that about every time three minutes pass, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer. Multiply that number by three. That's about how many minutes a person in the U.S. dies from blood cancer. But before we think about all of these statistics, let's first ask, "What are the types of blood cancer?"

Inside your bone marrow there are millions of cells. Imagine if one of those cells suddenly develops into a type of Leukemia cell right inside you body. After it under goes a stage called a leukemic change, it may start surving better than the other marrow cells in your body. A while will go by and it will reproduce, surpress the growth and development of other cells, and overpopulate your body. The reproduction rate of these cells and the rate at which they replace other natural, normal cells differs from disease to disease.

Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer that develops in the lymphatic system develops in the same way except in a different location.

     Our Mission

These are just two types of cancer that end lives too frequently in the U.S., but our current mission is to prevent that by researching and helping to make sure everyone in need gets the best treatment available. If there's anyway you can help, big or small, it makes a difference to every patient, big and small. You can learn more on the LLS website and lastly, thank you for your support.
